Hello everyone! It’s actually me, Dan, writing this blog entry myself. But first, I would like to thank Admi and Poindexter for helping with the admin side of Shin-Dig Film Production and doing the blog entries while I have been away. OK, so… I have been in Australia for a while, as Mike, Alex and the others are back in Vegas holding Down the fort. From a lot of pictures I have sent back, especially from North AU while filming on a sailing expedition, many people think I have been just kicking back.
Filming the Langford Island Sandbar Penninsula from the dingy - Hey, a "Dingie" in a dinghy!
Uhhhh… NO. I DID go on a 3-day sail with artist Nja Onê on the Whitsundays, and that was very relaxing, even though I filmed most the time, and paradise was abundant – from White Haven Beach, to snorkeling through the outer fringe of the Great Barrier Reef to … well, too much paradise to mention. Nja arrived back in Vegas today,as we have completed filming the segments in Australia for her upcoming Documentary, “Nja Onê – Through the Eyes of the Artist.” On a mission to stay busy, I have succeeded. I spent the last few days from 6AM to midnight editing a video for Streaming Video Systems and today it was completed … It’s a promo for the Maritime Streaming Video offered by Mark Christiansen brewed in his laboratory of technology.
Please take a few minutes to watch the clip below– it’s 4 minutes, but goes by fast. I shot all the footage other then the fire boat in the harbor and the clip of Mark during the FreeSailTraining.com clip. However, I did super-impose the fire in the clip.
I filmed the footage for this promo at locations from Airlie Beech aboard the largest ship sailing the Whitsundays, “Whitsunday Magic,” as well as 3 famed “Sydney to Hobart” racing boats, “Hammer,” “Merit” and “Eureka II.” The footage shot on “Merit” was during a race – THAT is a whole other story! The footage aboard Eureka II was during the 3-day sail I mentioned above. This promo shows off the cutting edge technology available by Streaming Video Systems used for maritime safety and emergency response, live streaming video during maritime racing right from the vessels, the Off-Shore Platform and Tanker Industry, charter boat industry and anyone who wants to be able to stream live video from there vessel from as far off shore as 50 miles! This technology can be used for any Industry, by the way, or even for fun!
Thank you so much to Mark Christiansen for taking Nja and I on our amazing 3-day adventure, Maarten “The Dutchman” for being such an accommodating first mate and to Mal Robertson for helping to make it happen, whom I also had the pleasure of interviewing for a video biography. Amongst many notable accomplishments in the maritime world, Mal owns Whitsunday Marine Academy.
Well thank you for stopping by the site and following along. If there are any how-to videos you would like to see on video/film production, or specific articles that would help you with your production endeavors, please let me know.
Sincerely,
Dan Shinder
CEO/Producer/Director
