He is also the director of a new Reality Show. Dan’s work ethic is reflected in his philosophy: “When I Produce, Direct and/or Edit for you as a client, my job is to ask enough questions to achieve enough clarity in my mind to fully understand your vision.

My job is not to make my own interpretation of your vision; As your Producer, Director and/or Editor, my job is to produce a product, which will embody your vision and bring it to LIFE!”

Dan started in TV and Video Production in spring of 2003 with his own TV Show, “Chewww On This!” and started his first video/TV production company, Brain Candy Productions.

Dan Hosted the show, as well as Produced and edited the series which ran 4+ years and won numerous awards from the local station of origin in Ventura, CA, Including “Best of 2003” only 6 months after inception.

The show ended up in four major So Cal Markets in over 60 cities securing major sponsors.

Dan is shown above during the taping of “Chewww On This Joins the Air National Guard!” This was a special in which the show was taped live at the 146th Airlift Wing ANG Channel Islands Base.

Dan and the crew entertained and fed 500 troops – most of whom had just arrived from or were leaving for Iraq and Afghanistan.

The show had 5 local Mayors as guest speakers and 3 Tuskegee Airmen as Guests Of Honor who spoke to the crowd about there WWII experiences and work since.

The production required Pentagon Clearance and State Capitol approval. During the lifespan of “Chewww On This!”

Dan accepted Director and Editor positions for a Health and Wellness show and a program about the history of Cartoons and Animation; Both award winning programs as well.

During the mid 2000’s Dan also Wrote, Produced, Directed and Edited 7 Short Films of the Mockumentry genre, three of which also won awards. These films were done under the name of Thynk Tank Productions.

Continuing Thynk Tank, Dan then moved on to making Training and Promotional Videos for Corporations, including Citibank, Yums Foods (KFC, Pizza Hut & Taco Bell), McDonald’s, Unity Bank and more. He also ran the multimedia department of the largest Service Evaluation Company in the USA.

In December of 2007, Dan moved from So Cal to the Las Vegas area started Shin-Dig Film Production. Five days later he began working in a 9-month stint with VMdirect and helloWorld as the Video Producer/Director. VMdirect is an MLM with helloWorld as the product side – Internet Video Streaming and E-mail.

Dan Produced and Directed the Live NEWS shows for both companies, as well as all the promotional spots – over 150 in 9 months.

During this time, Dan met Tad and Adriana James of the Tad James Co., the world’s largest training institute of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy®, as well as Tad being the creator of Time Line Therapy© Since then, Dan has operated as their sole choice of video production, producing DVD sets made up of as many as 14 discs per set.

One of the many skills Dan takes pride in which Shin-Dig Film Production offers, is when producing a training video series for resale, the viewer truly feels as if they attended the event in person.

The entire live slide presentation is reproduced in animation, with the instructors in a picture-in- picture while explaining the material, as shown here during a Tad James Co. event.

Another aspect to video productions done on location of events is the ability Dan as a director has to give the viewer a real taste of the environment of the venue; the locale, the entire feel of the surrounding environment is woven into a dynamic intro to each production.

This is a reflection of another philosophy built into the name, Shin-Dig Film Production. Dan explains: “Some people ask, me why I call the company Shin-Dig ‘FILM’ Production, when technically, we shoot on video, not film.

I love when I am asked this because it gives me a chance to explain the fact that in the company name, the word ‘film’ really refers to the genre, not the material in which we are shooting on.

It refers to a feel; a style of work – whether it’s a commercial, a training video, a biography or documentary, it is done in my style to some degree of a ‘FILM.’ Whatever the project is, the end result MUST be engaging and captivate the viewer.

Otherwise, the content is a moot point.” As a Producer, Director and Editor, Shin-Dig Film Production allows Dan to work in many areas. Other then the Corporate Event and Training Videos, Dan also provides retailers with the mean to produce videos for their websites.

Again, the philosophy has to do with keeping the viewer engaged. After all, who wants to read through a sea of text on a website these days??? Dan’s services and expertise enable the Retail and Service Industries a means to show their website visitors who they really are and what they have to offer, “With Video!”

Another realm Dan works in as a Producer, Director and Editor is the Entertainment Industry. Dan works with rising musical artists by developing video impact reels as part of systematic e-marketing plans, as well as shooting video of some of today’s top artists, including, Akon, Colby Odanis, Tank, Lil Maxso, Flipside, Tiara and more.

Whether it’s a Red Carpet Event, a Concert or a Music Video, the make-up of Dan’s productions flex and contract depending on the needs of the project. Dan’s son Alex is shown here interviewing Josh Kagan on his new Movie in the works while they are at Akon’s NBA All-Star Party.

After being away from TV Production for a couple years, Dan circled back around as he became an Executive Producer and the Director of a new Reality Show called “Kickin’ It With Big Keith,” staring Keith Bowen, Las Vegas’ hottest “Street Promoter” and Fashion Mentor to many stars. Dan spent time producing and directing the pilot and the first few episodes before moving on to even bigger opportunities. During that time working on Keith’s show, Dan worked with celebrities such as Spanky Haise from Wild N Out and veteran actor Antonio Fargas, who many know as “Huggy Bear” from the original Starsky and Hutch TV series.

Continuing work with the corporate and retail world, biographical films and the Tad James Company, Dan and Shin-Dig Films found another niche in the maritime industry.  Long story short, Dan’s associates Mark Christiansen and Tom Swanton are the principals of “Streaming Video Systems” in Australia. The provide streaming systems and production to the maritime industry. This has proven to be a great fit, as Dan has produced several promo pieces for them and with them for their Yacht Industry clients.

Dan was also invited to direct the live streaming broadcast of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race 2009, which streams from a system installed aboard “Merit,” the contending Volvo Ocean 60 Champ from 2008. While Mark Christiansen, a Master Yachtsman in his own right sails on Merit for the race and designed and installed the on-board 4-camera system, Dan will be directing and pumping out highlight reels from the base in Brisbane, AU along side Tom Swanton.  This section of the bio will be updated to reflect past tense after the race happens December 26 2009 thru approximately Jan 1st 2010. This project also yielded a documentary film by Dan, “Merit – The Return.” Many of the details are listed in the blog of this site. Dan looks forward to a long relationship affiliated with Streaming Video Systems and helping them carry the technology throughout the coasts of America and Europe.

Dan Now

Playing many instruments, drums being his forte, and playing, writing and producing many styles of music. He was known in his circles as, “The Chameleon.”

Dan has transcended this image into his TV, Film and Video work with the same adaptability and flexibility. “Having been a musician all my life and playing drums since I was seven,” explains Dan, “I have an innate sense of timing, which has proved to be invaluable when it comes to my editing.

I have also been told I always match the right music bed or score for the mood of a scene. I also attribute this to my experience in music.” Dan played around Hollywood so much in the early 1980’s, it’s no wonder his name got around so much as to be used in the movie “Spinal Tap.” Remember their past drummer who had exploded?
